Does the Boxee box hold any interest for you? It sounds like it’s not far off your desired set up, and it’s got a pretty nifty remote control. Thanks for detailing your setup too.
I already have “seagate theatre plus HD Media player” pricewise this is lesser than Boxee Box plays all types of file formats that Boxee can play. Internet Channels are not really of any use because in India except youtube and very few others none of the media players play all the channels.

Hi, I am planning to do the similar setup for my Parents at home. A low Dual core AMD APU, will that be enough for XBMC. I Guess in this setup, you can either watch Tatasky or use XBMC as they are connected to different HDMI sources, is there a way to interface the tata sky settop box to XBMC, So I can control everthing from one place
Tatasky and XBMC will run on seperate ports , if you are planning to get Tatasky to work inside XBMC .. then the challenge would be to by-pass tatasky settop box , add TV Tuner card etc .. And so far none of the DTH providers in India have a decent answer for this problem
