  1. Nice read.. helps me decide my DTH operator. I had a bad experience with Reliance too..in their cellphone biz..bunch of cheaters..

  2. Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any
issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and
I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due
to no back up. Do you have any solutions to protect
    against hackers?

  3. Before installing, I wanted to know legal aspect of all those channels available which would otherwise cost you money. For example HBO. I know that XBMC itself is free but not sure about aired channels.

  4. Your wish has been granted with the Raspberry Pi now in existence. Works amazing well! Use Openelec.

  5. Amazing blog…., full of information, updates and most important, it remided about a tour from sweet old memories (watching DD channals…with friends n family 🙂 ) to new hi tech TV . I also liked your blogs about OBPM. thanks

  6. When I looked at the google search result and your blog entry was listed, I thought someone was able to track what PVR in the Indian Broadcasting works.

My plan is to find out how (if possible) we could take the DTH signal as input to the PVR, and then use XBMC to program the shows. To do this we first need to know the list of DTH service providers that allow such service. From what I have briefly investigated, Hathway is known to provide such service. But I haven’t explored much.

    • I did try to explore PVR , unfortunately none of the DTH Service providers provide direct input to a computer or device , you have to go through their settop box only , However when i called customer support of Dishtv they said its not available as of today , in future stay tuned, yes cable as input to TV might still work with TV tuner card .. really did not invest my time and effort on this , because i could always watch xbmc and tv on 2 seperate ports
